BAA gate: ranking requires a publicly documented BAA. That gate decides whether a vendor is ranked; it does not add or remove points. (Separately, a documented BAA is one 5-point item under Privacy.) Yes. Every clinician who signs up is covered by the published BAA, part of the Terms of Use [2][3]. Berries is ranked #7 among vendors with a documented BAA.

Research scores are not clinical performance scores. They rate what each vendor publicly documents about pricing, EHR integration, privacy and security, specialty fit and workflow features. They do not measure note accuracy, clinical safety or patient outcomes, and we did not test any product hands-on. How research scores work

What changed
  • 2026-10-17: Dates: the page now shows Page updated (the last edit to this page) and Vendor facts verified (2026-10-23, the newest check of Berries's official pages, from the dated Sources list) instead of one date, and a note explains that research scores are not clinical performance scores. Scores, ranks and facts unchanged.
  • 2026-10-23: Initial review published, score 70/100, rank #7.

Who it is for

Who Berries is for

Therapists, psychologists, counselors and PMHNPs who want a low-cost scribe with treatment plans, session prep and a written no-training commitment.

You need notes written into your EHR today, a native Epic integration, or a SOC 2 Type 2 report you can confirm from public pages.

Pricing

Trial: free for the first 20 sessions, then 10 sessions a month, no credit card [1][8]. Pro: $99 per user billed monthly, or $948 per user billed annually, which is the $79/month shown on the pricing page [8][1]. Pro includes unlimited sessions, personalized templates, treatment plans, instruction emails, pre-session highlights, ICD-10 codes and AI chat; cancel anytime [1]. Group Practice: custom pricing [1]. Student and early-career discounts are available on request; amounts not published [8].

EHR integration depth

Berries works alongside any EMR by copy and paste or PDF export [4]. One-click EMR Push through a Chrome extension is in limited beta for unnamed browser-based mental health EMRs [7]. No Epic or other named native integration is published.

Security and privacy

Berries says it complies with HIPAA, HITECH and PHIPA, is SOC 2 certified (report type not stated), encrypts data in transit and at rest, and stores data in the United States [2]. It says it never uses PHI or personal data to train its models [2]. Session notes can be deleted at any time or set to auto-delete after 30 days [2]. The BAA says Berries will not use PHI to train AI models, may use de-identified data to operate and improve the services, and stores PHI, including backups, in the United States [3].

Specialty suitability

Built only for mental health clinicians, with 20+ built-in templates, treatment plans and patient instructions [1]. Session recordings are not stored (vendor-reported) [2]. The BAA (last updated 2026-10-11) says that for 42 CFR Part 2 records, Berries acts as a qualified service organization bound by Part 2, and the program must notify Berries before submitting such records [3].

Workflow and UX

Works in the browser on desktop and mobile, and an iOS app captures in-person sessions [5][6]. Supports in-person and virtual sessions [5]. Suggests ICD-10 codes and drafts patient instructions [1].
